In that way, you only need two of the three elements to take on any enemy with any combination, and make it an even battle (to a degree). (BTW when I use them with the infantry in the same line they usually fair all right except that maybe 20 % of them can't fire.)ĮDIT: Also, would like to add my initial philosophy of warfare, following the rock paper scissors is equal to infantry, archers, and cavalry respectively, the cavalry will slaughter archers, the infantry will overwhelm the cavalry. I have tried all the following and am looking for tips especially with archers. Or do I just keep them mixed in with the infantry?Īdditionally, where does cavalry come into play in this situation? Should I use the Swadian Knight wall of mobile death, or my companion cavalry? Which archers should I use, Rhodoks or Vaegir (on account of that the vaegirs unload on them but run out so fast)ĭo I line them up n front of my heavy infantry, then have the infantry rush in front of them once their cavalry charges or their infantry get close?

I then proceeded to use an only infantry army sheild wall tactic, and though it has worked I would like to know how I can make archers USEFUL on the battle field. After that, I realised that my archers were not doing much help with this tactic. Until now, I pretty much just had my troops run into battle without me. I have been playing mount and blade for a good while now on steam (not warband).
